Abstract

This article explores the use of webinar-oriented platforms Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams in secondary and higher education institutions. The relevance is considered and the analysis of Ukrainian and foreign experience of the implementation of webinar-oriented platforms in the educational process is carried out. Choice of the platforms for research stems from their wide use in educational institutions and their dominant position in 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions.

The paper identifies and analyzes minimum and recommended software and hardware requirements for using those platforms, time and quantity limits in various tariff plans. The results of a comprehensive examination and comparative analysis of those platforms according to the criteria of functionality, security, integration with other applications are presented. The technical and pedagogical capabilities of the toolkit of webinar-oriented platforms for video conferencing, in particular, screen sharing, whiteboard, group chat, meeting recording, breakout rooms, etc. are characterized. Their features in each system are considered, their advantages and disadvantages are determined. The recommendations for their use in the teacher's practical work are provided to ensure the maximum efficiency of the training sessions. The issues of feedback and effective interaction of students with teacher are considered. The issue of discipline violation during distance learning has been raised, and ways of the problem solving are proposed. The influence of the use of webinar-oriented platforms on the formation of students’ hard and soft skills during various types of classes has been studied. This article is intended for educators, school leaders, and administrators for choosing a platform with free or corporate licenses for educational institutions. The intimate knowledge and use by teachers of the platform presented in the paper is the key for successful learning. This makes it possible to make the educational process more interesting and effective using the various services of these programs.
