Abstract
The article discusses the problem of implementing individual educational trajectories for higher education seekers in the context of reforming the higher education system in Ukraine and introducing a student-centered learning model. The relevance of the study is determined by the legally enshrined right of students to freely choose at least 25% of educational components, as well as the need to adapt the educational process to dynamic changes in the technological environment, the labour market and global challenges. It is shown that traditional information systems for organizing the educational process, focused on academic groups and fixed curricula, are not flexible enough to fully support individual educational trajectories.
An approach to formalizing the task of forming individual educational trajectories based on an integer linear programming model is proposed, which takes into account the choice of disciplines, the sequence of their study, restrictions on the academic load, prerequisites and the resource capabilities of the higher education institution. Based on this model, requirements for the architecture of the information system for organizing the educational process have been defined, which is based on individual student curricula and provides end-to-end planning from the educational programme to the formation of educational streams and electronic timetables.
Based on the proposed model, an information system for automating the planning of the educational process has been developed and implemented, which is based on individual student curricula and supports a wide range of disciplines. The system was tested at the Radio Engineering Faculty of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and was implemented throughout the university between 2021 and 2025. The results showed a high level of student engagement in the choice of disciplines (92 %) and confirmed the practical applicability of the proposed approach. It was concluded that the use of digital information systems is a key tool for implementing individual educational trajectories in modern higher education institutions.
