Abstract

The article presents the results of experimental studies of the tenth form pupils formation level of their ability to learn. The formation of competence and the ability of humans to acquire knowledge, mobilize and use them in a particular situation became particular important in information society development. Within the study there are identified interrelated components of competence skills to learn that integrate motivational, social, cognitive and metacognitive aspects of learning. Using a competence model with such elements students could determine their level of ability to learn according to the the 12 - point scale: the ability to comprehend the importance of the educational process; ability to plan their learning process; ability to organize it in a proper way; ability to analyze and assess their learning outcomes.
