Abstract

The article is devoted to the issue on applying intelligence maps in the educational process of higher school. In the article intelligence maps are considered as the interactive means of systematisation of knowledge on forming a professional image of masters of higher school pedagogy. It is noted that using the intelligence maps when doing the course on Professional Image of Higher School Lecturer is rather an urgent issue as it makes the learning process creative and exciting, it allows solving a number of pedagogical tasks of the image direction, fulfilling research work by using scientific methods more effectively, as well as visual introducing of a great amount of information, simplifying the data analysis and remembering these data, coping with the information stream, running and structuring it by using all the creative potential; actualising a certain complex of knowledge that needs to be learned when doing the course, providing an intensification of learning based on visual perception, imaginative presentation of knowledge and learning activities, increasing of literacy image and visual culture, as well as combining successfully educational and analytical activities, which, of course, are effective in implementing the modern objectives of the education system. The stages of work concerning creating the intelligence map on Structure of Forming the Professional Image of the Lecturer are highlighted: the theoretical block (selecting the structural elements of the components of the professional image of the lecturer, acquainting with the concept of radiant thinking and practical recommendations for intelligence mapping, discussing the basic rules for creating intelligence-maps), the practical block (approbation – drawing up the intelligence-map on Structure of Forming the Professional Image of the Lecturer by the masters of the higher school pedagogy, analysis – presenting the intelligence-maps by students, discussing their content and design, reflection –activities self-analysing). It is concluded that using the intelligence-maps allows determining one’s own goals and values, beginning the path of continuous self-analysis throughout life, realising one’s own strengths and weaknesses as a specialist, developing a plan for self-improvement of professional image.
