Abstract

The topicality of the article is due to a change in the modern market of translation services and, as a consequence, a change in the social order and the concept of the teaching method of translation. In this regard, the teaching methods of translation should choose the most effective and the best possible ways of forming competence in these types of translation, which are popular at the translation market, in particular the abstract and gist types of written translation of scientific and technical texts in French. Information and communication technologies are considered today most effective and widespread. As a consequence, the article describes the features of using an electronic case as a kind of information and communication technology, which is an effective means of teaching abstract and gist types of written translation of scientific and technical texts in the future of French philologists. The electronic case provides the implementation of an individual trajectory of learning process and, thanks to its resources, is a means for organizing self-study work of students, satisfying and responding to the basic requirements and needs for the positive motivation of future students - philologists. The electronic case is hosted on the Moodle teaching training platform, which is free and freely available on the Internet, which is an unconditional advantage of this information and communication tool. In addition, the article analyzes other advantages, the main functions and features of this methodology in the context of self-study work of students in forming the competence in the specified types of translation. The article presents and describes the main instruments of the electronic case, its resources, with the help of which a set of educational materials is being developed for the successful organization of the educational process. Also in the article the practical recommendations have been developed on the use of resources and capabilities of the electronic case for teaching abstract and gist types of translation, in particular the process of planning the educational process using the described information and communication means.
