Abstract

The article deals with the issues on innovative development of foreign language education by means of information and communication technologies. Analysis of the regulatory instruments on the basis of which higher education graduates are trained in non-language universities allows determining the relevance of foreign communication competence formation and the ability to deliver intercultural communication, including professional one. The competence approach in the process of foreign language education, based on the integration of key competencies, is determined as the basis of the formation of language learning content lines, constituted from linguistic, communicative, linguocultural material, and learning and communicative strategies. Analysis of such linguodidactic categories as the content of foreign language education, forms and methods of foreign languages teaching is carried out. Particular attention is paid to the problem of and learning strategies formation in the context of the implementation of continuous foreign education. The authors also analyses a number of existing classifications of such strategies in the foreign and domestic educational space; ways of their technologization are suggested. Application of information and communication technologies is considered as a main factor in the formation of positive motivation and the creation of a situation of success in the process of and learning strategies formation, with personalization, credibility, accessibility, productivity and interactivity being identified as the basic constituents. A number of methods for teaching foreign languages with the use of information and communication technologies are proposed. They aim at creating a favourable educational environment, enhancing the motivational potential of foreign language education, activating students' autonomous work by constructing a content of education that involves the conscious selection, processing and mastering of educational information.
